The gaming world has been set ablaze with brand new news on a PS3 Jailbreak. The PS Jailbreak is the first ever hack on the PS3 and lets you play games that are on your External Hard drive. To play these games you will have to dump them and use the Backup Manager to run it. However there are some odd restrictions including the requirement to have any other PS3 game disc in the drive at the time and also the limitation of external hard drives only working if all files are under 4GB in size.
The PS Jailbreak has just come out but has it already been put to rest? Recent news has been presented to us through N4G and what is says is that the PS Jailbreak can be detected by PSN
According to SKFUand RichDevX, the Backup manager game ID (LAUN-12345) could be logged/recorded by Sony when logged into PSN (when online). This would obviously allow Sony to see who would be using the illegal PSjb/clone and we could very well see ban waves similar to the Xbox 360. Sony does currently ban PSN/consoles that results in the 8002A227 error code.
So could this mean that Sony could be responsible for a mass block? Well i think so, or something like that. Sony cant just stay in the dark about this, because if they dont do something soon there could be problems, yes maybe more of their hardware might be sold but their software could go down the drain.
All im saying is that if you bought a PS Jailbreak and plan to use online features…. SONY’S GONNA GETCHA. just kidding but some bad stuff could happen but dont worry, they will not take away USB compability from the PS3, that would just be stupid
